Create x8 handmade holiday cards and learn woodblock carving and printmaking with Artist Grace Noel in her studio in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe! In this class, Grace will guide students through carving, printing, and assembling their unique holiday cards. Students will learn basic woodblock carving and printmaking techniques and take home a starter kit of tools to make cards for all occasions!
In this class:
All supplies are included with sign up fee!
Students choose x1 template to draw and carve into a woodblock. Grace will provide x4 templates for students to choose from.
Each student will draw the template on their woodblock using tracing or free hand
Grace will demonstrate how to carve each template and help students with their carving
After carving is complete, Grace will demonstrate how to print each woodblock and help students print theirs. Prints will require 3 days to dry.
Grace will help students create a template for prints to be adhered to cards. Grace will also help apply gold leaf to the cards if students desire. Cards will take 3 days to dry.
Students will be notified when prints and cards are ready for pick up via email through Eventbrite by Grace.
Beginner friendly? YES! All skill levels are welcome, we will find a design for everyone.
Family friendly? YES! Recommended for children 14 years and older. We will be using wood carving tools that can cause injury.
