Take your relief printmaking skills to the next level with artist Grace Noel in her studio in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe. This class is intended to be the next level up from Grace’s Woodblock Carving and Printmaking Private Lesson. Grace recommends that students take the Woodblock Carving & Printmaking Private lesson first before signing up for the Wood Dragon class. All supplies will be provided for class and cost is included in the Eventbrite sign up fee. If you already have a set of tools from a previous class, please bring them to this class.
*Please note that due to dry times, you will need to come back the next week to pick up your creation. Shipping is available as an additional cost.
Materials included:
Woodblock - Shina Plywood
Ink - Akua Kolor by Speedball
Paper - Strathmore brand
Printing station: brayer, barren, glass pallet, pallet knife
Please bring your carving tools provided in Grace's Woodblock Carving &Printmaking Private lesson
In this class we will:
Draw/trace and learn about the sign of the Wood Dragon which is the Chinese zodiac sign for 2024.
Carve the drawing from a 4"x6" woodblock
Print two layers to create the image: a rainbow gradient and the key (dragon image)
Allow the print to dry for 5 days
