Description: Hero and Martyr Series: Malala Yosefzai was inspired by the near assassination of the an 11 year old girl: Malala Yosefzai, by the Taliban. Malala insisted, along with her father, that she receive an education which is something not traditionally allowed for women in Afghanistan. One day on the front steps of her school the Taliban shot Malala in the head. Miraculously Malala lived and she now stands as a symbol for education for all people. This print is to commemorate the lives lost to senseless violence and is in solidarity with the efforts to one day achieve equality and justice for all people. The image is carved into wood, then ink, paper, and pressure create a limited edition hand pulled print by Grace Noel Art.
